Putting Empathy into practice

October 9th Putting Empathy into practice, Royal Society of Medicine, London. Evidence suggests that empathy improves patient outcomes and practitioner wellbeing, yet the extent to which practitioners express empathy is variable. Led by Jeremy Howick (Author of 'The philosophy of Evidence Based Medicine' and 'Doctor You') and Sian Rees (Patient experience lead for the Oxford AHSN) the workshop will cover the theory and practice of empathy applied in healthcare settings. They will demonstrate how evidence-based knowledge and skills relating to empathy can improve patient benefit and clinician job satisfaction.
