Membership FAQs

Who can Join?

A person who is registered with the General Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council or with a regulatory body of a Profession Allied to Medicine;
A person conducting teaching or research in Medical Ethics, Medical Law or Medical Humanities in a UK Higher Education Institution;
A person who has retired from either of the above; or
Any other person approved by the Trustees with relevant expertise.

How do I pay my membership fees?

The easiest way to pay your membership fees is by debit/credit card. Membership fees can also be paid by cheque (made payable to Institute of Medical Ethics) or Direct Debit.

To pay by cheque please download the form here and return it to us by post (Institute of Medical Ethics, Suite 13, Bold Lane, Bold Business Centre, St Helens, WA9 4TX).

To pay by Direct Debit download both the Direct Debit mandate form here and the membership form here and return them to us by post (Institute of Medical Ethics, Suite 13, Bold Business Centre, Bold Lane, St Helens, WA9 4TX).
