Who can Join?

 

 

Membership is open to anyone interested in furthering the objects of the IME, ie improving education and debate in medical ethics, and helping to advance the education of medical practitioners and students in the impartial understanding and practice of medical ethics and law to further integrate these disciplines into clinical practice.

Members should also meet at least one of the following criteria:

A person who is registered with the General Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council or with a regulatory body of a Profession Allied to Medicine, including overseas persons;
A person conducting teaching or research in Medical Ethics, Medical Law or Medical Humanities in a UK or overseas Higher Education Institution;
A person who has retired from either of the above; or
Any other person approved by the Trustees with relevant expertise.

How do I pay my membership fees?

The easiest way to pay your membership fees is by debit/credit card. Membership fees can also be paid by cheque (made payable to Institute of Medical Ethics)�or **Direct Debit (**members must have a UK bank account).
