Mrs Maureen Bannatyne, General Manager and Assistant to the Governing Body

Maureen Bannatyne has been associated with the Institute of Medical Ethics and also the Journal of Medical Ethics for over thirty years first working with Kenneth Boyd in Edinburgh and then with Raanan Gillon on the Journal of Medical Ethics and thereafter with the Institute of Medical Ethics.

Dr Carolyn Johnston , Education Project Manager and Assistant

Dr Carolyn Johnston is joint project manager for the IME Education Project. She is Adviser in Medical Law & Ethics at King's College London School of Medicine and Senior Lecturer at Kingston University. She originally trained as a solicitor. She completed the MA in Medical Law and Ethics at King's College London in 1997 and has specialised in medical law since then. Between 2002 and 2005 she worked at the Ethox Centre, University of Oxford, as Project Officer for the UK Clinical Ethics Network and as Education and Training Coordinator for the Education for Ethics Support Project. She is a member of the Clinical Ethics Committee at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London and also at Central and North West London Mental Health Trust and is an Associate Hospital Manager, SW London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. Carolyn's particular research interests include advance decisions and the involvement of adolescents in healthcare decision making. She has recently coauthored 100 Cases in Clinical Ethics and Law (Johnston and Bradbury, Hodder Arnold, 2008)

Elaine Paris, Education Project Manager and Assistant

Elaine Paris started working for King's College London in 2002 and is the administrator for the popular Intercalated BSc in Medical Ethics and Law as well as the core curriculum ethics. She was appointed alongside Carolyn Johnston as joint project manager to the Education Project in June 2008.
